Every year, 100,000 young people in the UK leave school without essential skills or basic qualifications

18%

of young people in the UK will leave school with fewer than two significant qualifications. That's approximately 100,000 each year, every year.

37%

This number rises to                       for students from low-income families.

And to                       for students living with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

45%

We exist to give those young people a chance.

Our enterprise education programmes give young people access to  essential skills training at school and helps bridge the gap between education and employment.

Our programmes are a highly effective way to give young people the opportunity to thrive in life beyond secondary education

We help unlock a lifetime of opportunities for young people in the following ways:

DEVELOPING A PORTFOLIO OF ESSENTIAL SKILLS - coaching modern values and personal skills to boost confidence, maturity and self-esteem.

IMPROVING EMPLOYABILITY - developing up-to-date business knowledge, gaining corporate experience and building professional networks.

PROVIDING ASPIRATIONAL CAREER GUIDANCE - local employers and inspirational experts provide in-person support and advice on opportunities and career pathways.

We bridge the gap between education and employment by connecting young people to local knowledge and opportunities

Our work is highly effective because it brings together different parts of the community to provide a joined-up learning experience for local young people.

Our regional approach brings together local educators, employers, Local Authorities, Chambers of Commerce, membership groups and other non-profits to ensure that our programmes are tailored to the needs of the region.

Our partners don't just drop in - they co-create the experience. From sharing inspirational stories and providing industry insights, to setting real-life challenges from their own organisations.

Our impact:

Equips schools with engaging, inclusive enterprise programmes that develop essential skills and improve readiness for life beyond the classroom

Empowers young people to build confidence, discover their strengths, and develop real-world skills through hands-on learning

Connects businesses with the next generation of talent through mentoring, skills development and meaningful community engagement

Supports local communities by creating opportunities in areas of deprivation and unlocking potential where it’s needed most

Bridges the gap between education and employment, helping young people step into the future with purpose and possibility

This opportunity has been life changing. Project Can Do has given me self confidence, expanded my horizons and helped me be resilient when faced with setbacks.

It has allowed me to build new relationships and connections in the world of business, and as a result, I am now starting my own sporting goods business.

I would like to see more opportunities like Project Can Do to be provided for young people like me. It could change their life.

Starting my own business changed my life. Now, I want to give young people the same opportunity

Enterprise is more than just business, it’s a mindset for life.

At its heart, enterprise is about thinking boldly, acting creatively, and staying curious. It teaches young people to identify challenges, embrace failure, seize opportunities and engage meaningfully with the world around them.

Too many young people are leaving school without the skills, experiences or networks they need to thrive in today’s fast-changing world. At the same time, employers are struggling to find and retain young talent with the skills that matter most — problem solving, teamwork, communication, and curiosity.

The UK education system isn’t keeping pace with the needs of a modern society and is failing so many of our most vulnerable young people. That's why I created Project Can Do.
